Expiration date for PCN?

Hi all,
A long while ago my girlfriend parked at my flats without her visitors pass. She received a PCN (well a number over a period) which we ignored. It all went quiet for around a year until we received another letter today threatening court action (as usual).
My question is, and i could not see anything on the sticky reference this; what, if at all, is the expiration date as it were for these types of claims?
The date of the "latest" PCN is January 2015.

Which parking company? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

They have increased their court activity recently but do have a reputation for being incredibly incompetent in court. http://www.bmpa.eu/companydata/Vehicle_Control_Services.html0
