Broken UPVC window lock

Hi.

In my loft room i have a small Upvs window that the kids have snapped the handle off.
The bardel is snapped clean off to to base of locking mechanism.

I have tried to remove lock but i can only find 1 screw underneath a metal square cap.

The other side has a sunken metal square which look like a cap but it will not budge or move to allow me to see if theres a screw under it.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.
Thankyou

The sunken metal sq is usually coloured plastic and pops off to reveal a screw. Use a sharp point to pry it up.

Because the handle hides the exposed screw when closed.
