I'd ring a few local RICS surveyors and ask for quotes. Also see how customer friendly they seem.0

I can do you one for free
Electrics - might be dodgy get it checked
Gas - might be dodgy get it checked
Damp - some evidence found get it checked.
Your welcome.0 -
Generally a waste of money and only done as a tick box exercise for the mortgage provider.
Suggest getting a local surveyor for a real report.0 -

Why for the mortgage provider? they have not requested it and normally only do a valuation anyway...
Yeh ive got some quotes and found one which I think homebuyeronline.co.uk use, so cheapest I have found is £256.
Ive read many things about the surveys, and was/am in the mind they are a waste of time if you know what your looking for.
but for £256, saves my time and is not breaking the bank.
Has anyone actually had anything useful mentioned in a report they would otherwise of missed?0
