  • I like your idea of doing percentages, although the numbers are a little bleak right now. Hopefully they'll perk up once you get the money from OH.

    MAJOR NEWS. Is everyone ready?

I finally hit £40 on onepoll!

Phew! Will NOT be doing that again. What a waste of my time. It took me over a year to reach £40.

In other news, had a lovely but extremely spendy weekend. Saw some friends from uni which was great, we had a laugh. I was worried it would be awkward because I'd seen some old friends over New Year which was up there in one of my more awkward social encounters. I brought OH along and I know he was secretly dreading it but even he had fun.

Ate out every single day this weekend which  to my waistline and  to my budget. It still comes under the monthly socialising budget that I set but I'll have to reconcile and see exactly how much of it I have left.

Planning on seeing a friend tomorrow for dinner but I have a free pizza voucher from pizza express so

Didn't get around to making lunch last night so I'll have to buy something for lunch again.... hoping to make sure it's not expensive though!

Yay to the good weekend! Sometimes it can get really awkward with old Uni friends... With some people it feels a bit like you were purely just friends through circumstance then when you take those away there's nothing there and it's all just a bit weird. Glad to head it wasn't the case in this instance!

Hope the budget isn't too shot :) Not every weekend will be a spendy weekend so you're allowed them once in a while!

Also congrats on onepoll ... I gave up eons ago! I think I got to about £9 then didn't have the will to continue. It was just so, so, so, so slow going. Am glad to hear a success story for someone though :rotfl:

I think I'm on my third time round of OnePoll now - it's a LOT easier now they've dropped the theshold to £25 though - that wretched £40 cashout used to feel like it tok forever to get to. I quite like it as it's easy to cram in the little short surveys in between other stuff - sometimes suits me better than the longer ones.

Good to hear the weekend was good if spendy - suspect we're going to have a spendy one this week! :D

    Hi all.

Feeling a tad worse for wear today as my planned excursion to pizza express then morphed into a trip to the bar at las iguanas where two for one cocktails happened.... and the guy at the bar was so amused at two girls ordering two pitchers on a weekday that he made them with double the booze!

Suffice to say I had a very very good night's sleep :rotfl:

I don't usually drink during the week so this was very unusual for me. Throwback to being a student!

Had a great time and it didn't cost me too much (£10) but I won't be doing that again anytime soon

No sign of any sort of payout from onepoll yet. I thi k I read somewhere that it can take weeks so maybe if I'm lucky, it'll get to me when I get closer to payday and feel extra poor.

Things are looking relatively ok finance wise, I've found it a bit hard to keep track lately because of all the bank switches. Maybe I'd better dig out that bullet journal that I was just talking about on lonelyrat's diary and actually organise my life for once :p

Seeing a friend this weekend, haven't seen her for yonks. She has... ahem... exotic tastes in the bedroom and wanted me to go to a certain type of show with her. I decided it'd be too awkward and politely declined so now we're going to a flower market instead. Phew. :o

    We got bed bugs

Think it was from a mattress topper that my sis bought supposedly new from a reputable, well known department store...

    £360 treatment later...:o

Because of the treatment I had to wash everything, tidy and clean everything so it's been an exhausting couple of days.

We then had to vacate the flat for 5 hours so OH and I took a little trip to Hampton Court palace. It was lovely! We took a little picnic with us which was nice but realistically I'm not sure if we saved any money because we got some nice food. It was really nice sitting in the sun in the perfect grounds. I fantasised quite a bit about living there. Entry was free too, a perk with OH's job  We walked around a lot but my phone counter reckons it was only 8,000 steps... not sure how much I believe that as I had bad signal too. Maybe part of it is that I want to think I did more exercise than I did :o

Had an expensive couple of days because of buying bedbug related stuff but not too crazy. I might still get a clothes steamer though for clothes and bedding that can't be washed. Might be able to get my sis to chip in.

Been feeling awful body image wise lately. I've weighed myself and I'm back up to my heaviest weight which is quite significantly overweight for my height  been keeping an eye on calories but have been stress eating the last couple of days thanks to bedbug situation.

    Still waiting for onepoll payout.

  • Oh how grim! Poor you. Can you complain to the shop? Presumably a returned product which was sold on.

Get that bullet journal out :rotfl: Hope you had fun with your friend if you still saw her?

Very crummy news about the bed bugs... It's making my skin crawl just thinking about it! :( Yay to Hampton Court Palace though. I remember going there when I was a kid and getting very concerned that I was lost in the maze. I love a picnic so much... I just love anything sun - related really I think! We attempted a barbecue yesterday and OH burnt one side of all the food (then dropped my sweetcorn in the dirt) :o A picnic may have been more sensible!

I think step counters on phones aren't that accurate. I'm about to go on a walk and I'll take my phone and do a wee experiment. We'll see how the phone vs. the fitbit differ  8,000 steps regardless is good anyway. I'm quite happy if I get over 5,000 most days...

Try not to beat yourself up about the stress eating, it happens and you've had a pretty stressful experience re: bed bugs! I'm using myfitnesspal at the moment and it's quite helpful with watching calories. I'm up at my heaviest at the moment as well, but I try and keep telling myself that anything is changeable.
