Who Insures This One?

All.

I am buying noise cancelling headsets. I fly aeroplanes for a living and am buying specific headsets for that job. Unfortunately they are rather expensive.

However, my home insurance company has told me that as they are for "business use" they are not insured under the contents policy. I have looked at some "gadget" websites, but they seem only interested in iPads etc, or they are assuming I am running a business and want to quote for business insurance.

Does anyone out there know where I could get insurance for such an item?

See if a local insurance broker (not Swinton) can help

I was going to ask if you were employed or self employed, although if you're employed I'm not sure why your employer wouldn't have provided you with these. Either way, maybe there is some kind of business insurance in place that covers equipment, although you would have to double check that it would apply for equipment you have bought yourself.
