Is there anything unusual about this log, my laptop's been running slow so I ran through the malware sticky and thought I'd give this a go too. Cheers

You can also disable (fix) all the Intel bloatware and instead use Windows Zero Configuration for your wireless connection.

First, click Start - Run - type services.msc - OK, and make sure Wireless Zero Configuration is Started and set to Automatic. Change it if not. Then in your Wireless Network Connection, make sure 'Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings' is ticked.

Next, disable all the C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\ startup (O4) or service (O23) items.

    Also disable:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [igfxtray] C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxtray.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [igfxhkcmd] C:\WINDOWS\system32\hkcmd.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [igfxpers] C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxpers.exe

These are Intel graphics utilities, which can be run when required from the Start menu.

Reboot and you should find that the 6 Intel wireless processes are no longer running, leaving 1 process doing the same job as 6.

Just to clarify before I wreck something, as well as the 3 graphic ones listed above, I should fix the following:

    C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\EvtEng.exe
    C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\S24EvMon.exe
    C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\RegSrvc.exe

Have I got everything or have I misunderstood your post? Cheers.

Nearly. In addition to the 3 graphics items, there are 3 04 and 3 023 C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\ items to fix:

Are your hard drives set up in a RAID configuration? If not, you can disable Intel® Matrix Storage Manager, which means fixing these 2:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IAAnotif] C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel Matrix Storage Manager\iaanotif.exe
    O23 - Service: Intel(R) Matrix Storage Event Monitor (IAANTMon) - Intel Corporation - C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel Matrix Storage Manager\iaantmon.exe

You should find that the computer is faster and applications are more responsive with all the Intel crap disabled.

How would I tell if it's in a RAID config?
