Transfer Of Lease Extortionate Fees

I am a home owner with no mortgage. Due to a serious illness I plan to add my wife's name to the property so we will be joint owners. The process through the land registry is fairly simple but the problem is with the lease holder. Their solicitors are asking an administration fee of £285 for notice of assignment to add her to the lease plus they want a copy of the lease to compare with their copy. Is this fee normal or am I being ripped off?
