Car park ding

New to this so here it goes..

Parked my 3 month old car in a car park on monday evening at work. I'm always checking my car for dings and when I came back I noticed a ding where someone had knocked my door and some paint had come off (there is also some of her paint on it). I'm pretty certain which car it was and will be checking CCTV today.
What's the best way to go around this? If I go through their insurance will I have to pay any excess? or shall I just get it fixed myself (if she offers to pay for damage) also would it effect my next insurance quote.

If you claim off the third party directly then you won't get any excess to pay

How do you know it's a "her"?
To break the paint that must have been some ding.
If you have a paint sample from the offending vehicle you !ay be able to confront "her" I'd be interested to know how you get on, we have similar incidents input work car park from time to time

Welcome to my world. Within 2 months of my last new car someone did exactly this, then roll over 3 years and my latest new car the same thing has happened, again within a matter of months of getting it.

The first time I got my local Dent Devils guy out to get the dent out, cost around £90 as I recall, there was a slight paint chip too but I touched that up myself no bother. Luckily no paint damage this time around but still a slight dent to remove which I'll take care off nearer the time when I get rid of the car.
