Scam calls/Credit card fraud

Coincidence?
I bought online insurance from Quotemehappy with my credit card.(Cardholder Not Present [CNP] transaction). Have since received several phone calls a day from scammers. Many with bogus telephone numbers (I check everyone) mostly "insurance" related. Then a few weeks later I have fraudulent activity on my credit card.
I am vigilant with phone calls. I don't answer unknown numbers (I have caller display), I block scam callers, check numbers and I guard my credit card like Fort Knox. Fortunately my bank has repaid all the CNP debits.
Has anyone else experienced similar?

I bought from QuotemeHappy and haven't had any scam calls. Mind you I probably wouldn't realise anyway as I use a call blocking phone but they would show as missed calls on my internet view of calls.0

I thought the Asian 'Mikes' and 'Alans' had given up calling on behalf of 'Openreach' but I had a call today and wasn't prepared enough or they are realising that many of us know what they are about and play them along.
Good afternoon, Madam.I am Joseph calling on behalf of Openreach, as we have signals from your modem ,saying that you are having internet problems.
Oh,really ? Is this the white modem or the black one?
The white one.
Is it the little one with the pink bits or the bigger one with Sky on the side ?
Are you not having problems ?
No and you are unsuccessful with your scam.0 -
The best and most annoying thing for these scammers -- e.g. Asian "Sean" -- is to string them along as long as possible. When they ask what it says on the screen, I respond "does your mother know you are a thief". Sean was apoplectic and really lost it completely.Je suis sabot...0
