    Good day for me ;)

I volunteered to work saturday morning (to help bump up novembers pay packet after taking last saturday off to go to London Fashion Weekend) but ended up staying till 4.45pm and didnt take a lunch, netting an additional £53.36 (not inc sat morning pay).

I also have a mystery shopping job booked for this evening for £30. I would have bought a takeaway anyway this evening as its been a long week so im going to count the whole £30 towards the target.

I also made £1.64 via Quidco plus about 20p in searches. Oh, and 5p on pigsback!

    Totals so far: £144.51

Note to self: Sell more stuff on ebay!!!

Thanks! I have to say thank you for starting this awesome challenge as I didnt think it would be possible at first but it forced me to really think about where to make extra money and wish id done this sooner! :T

Most of the money is mainly due to the overtime ive been doing, which started at around the beginning of this challenge so ive been doing as much as I can. It means im more tired at the moment but my bosses have actually noticed my dedication :D and ive gained a lot of respect workwise. As soon as ive got past xmas I can cut back on the overtime a little and afford to have a nice well earned rest. My theory is that the more I pay off now means less interest to pay on debt, meaning the money goes even further :money: .

I actually forgot to include in last months total that I had £200 worth of vouchers as a bonus from work, and at the end of this month im due around another £50 as a quarterly sales bonus, and another £50 at the beginning of December as a xmas pressie - all of which are used to purchase Next vouchers to use against that account.

Im working as hard as I can because I really want to try and clear another £1000 of debt before xmas (inc normal payments) and have enough cash spare so that I can still do things like afford improptu train tickets and save for a tattoo I have scheduled at the the end of November etc. Im aiming to completely clear my Next account (balance £420) and as much of the credit card as I can (balance £820). I use the mystery shopping money to pay off my student overdraft, as it has the least amount of interest to pay so thats not the priority at the moment.

I have to say that im finding it difficult to make overpayments on debts at the moment though, the money is only just starting to come through from last month but I try and keep hold of it as long as possible because something always seems to crop up (unbudgeted  - like visiting people and having visitors!) and I would literally hate to use the credit card because id already put the cash on it! Although, this should calm down a bit now and most things are scheduled and budgeted. ;)

Ill hopefully be having a payrise before the end of the year :j with a new position at work, and want to clear all my debts asap so I have more cash available each month so I can treat myself at some point - ive now been living with around £4000 worth of debt for a couple of years and i'd rather clear it now so I can save to buy a house, actually take a holiday every year and put additional money into my pension so I dont retire poor!

Anyway, sorry for rambling - I think I need to get to bed!

    Jo

that really is the way to do it. My OH and i spent just over a year being tighter than tight not spending a penny on anything we didn't NEED!!! We hoped that when we were debt free we might be able to enjoy ourselves a bit and relax as it would be the first time we have had no debt since we have been together. Well it worked. It feels so good to be debt free and getting it done in a year rather than 2.5 years has meant we weren't drudging through for longer than necessary. We found it was much better to have nothing for a year and get it over and done with than living half a life for 2.5 years. So go for it ( as you already are0 and i promise you it is fantastic when you are finally debt free, and you will never go into debt again when you know how hard it is to pay off!!!

I don't now whay because I have done nothing towards it today , but today i feel really excited about this challenge. We really want a new kitchen and we really need to get saving so we can have some of the money for it in the January sales. And I feel this challenge is really going to help me with saving for it.

Going to put some things on ebay tonight and do my click thrus now and at least that will be something to help me catch up.
