I have just gone through the same sort of issue in returning an item in order to get refunded, the courier attempted several times and then gave up, but i got refund as i shows delivery was attempted.

The postal requirements are different for a return, they are also different for an INR claim as opposed to a Claim for fraudulent use of a card.

For a refund- buyer merely has to show that an attempt at delivery has been made.

For an INR - seller must show that parcel was received at the buyers address as shown in paypal , an attempted delivery will not win an INR claim.

for a fraud claim- seller merely needs to show that item was sent within 7 days to the paypal address of the buyer.

It is worth remembering and noting the difference in requirements.

The case has been opened for 4 days now and it's awaiting buyer's action. I've not heard anything back from them to say if the item is still "missing" or if she's found it. Perhaps she had it all along. Would be nice to hear either way. I've got 3 days left before I can close it. Grrr. :mad:

As has been said.

For a purchase, the seller needs to show proof of delivery. A return is different.

As a seller, proving the purchase was sent isn't enough. As a seller you need to prove delivery.

OP in 3 days, you don't close it, you escalate it.

Yes, it's showing up on both ebay and paypal. And when I spoke to ebay they said it was there.

We received tracking information that shows the item was delivered to the buyer's address.

This is exactly why I still use tracking for all my items, no matter how inexpensive they are.
