Transferring money to pay for holidays

I am sure it's on this site somewhere but I can't seem to find the answer to what is the best way to pay the deposit for a holiday in France. Normally we book with companies who take card payments but next year are going privately and I don't know how to send the money. I have the persons RIB details and their IBAN details but don't know how I should pay. Can anyone help please.

You could try moneybookers.com , I've used them a couple of times and it's quite cheap. Only downside is that it takes a few days, don't know why, but my vendors were always happy to wait, knowing, I suppose, that it was on its way through a reliable intermediary.

If you and the person in France have a PayPal accounts then you can transfer money that way. I have just done this to pay the deposit on an apartment we have booked for a trip to Munich next April.

I work for a bank and have never heard of Economy Moneymover. Nat West do a Relay Payment which costs £10.00 but I do believe that some travel agents and The Post Office do Western Union payments. Not sure of the cost.
