County Court

Hi all,
I have received a letter today from a county court advising me that Gladstones Solicitors acting on behalf of link parking are trying to get £237.98 for a parking ticket back in January
I received letters from them (no pictures) and ignored as on thought that was still the thing to do and I understand now this is not.
I don't really have a defence as I shouldn't have parked there but have no idea what evidence they actually have. Am i worth just paying the fine or contacting link and paying a smaller amount or anything else in could do?
Any help massively appreciated

They are highly unlikely accept a 'smaller amount'. If this went to court and you lost (but with a good defence you are likely to win) the costs against you would be less than the amount they are now asking you for.Am i worth just paying the fine or contacting link and paying a smaller amount or anything else in could do?
But you're going to have to do a good deal of work in terms of research and drafting of defence and witness statements, gathering of evidence etc, to get you into a position to successfully deal with this.
Pleasecread the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #2 which will explain what you need to do, including the important first step of acknowledging service of the court documents to you.
What you cannot do now is what you appear to have been doing with previous correspondence about this ticket, ignoring things! You must deal with it.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

you need to acknowledge this and defend yourself
so read post #2 of the NEWBIES sticky thread to start with
then use the drop down search forum box and put suitable search words in , like GLADSTONES COURT CASE and read what others are doing or have done in similar circumstances
then start to prepare your draft defence0 -
Please confirm: Did you receive a Claim Form from the Northampton County Court bulk claims centre (Money Claim Online)? If so, you will need to file an Acknowledgment of Service asap, whilst you work with the forum on a Defence.
Everyone has a Defence - even if you are required in due course to pay the Claimant (which is by no means certain from the limited information provided) it does not follow that inflated charges of nearly £250 follow.0 -
Gladstones are not the sharpest tool in the box and most of their claims are poorly considered and badly presented in court. They appear to be ignorant of the law and court procedure and, as a result, if you put up a decent defence, they will come a cropper. Read some of their Fubars here.

Such an under statement young Deep, with their limitation of intelligence, makes one wonder how they passed GO to become an ATA ???
Then we have Marcus Jones MP ??
Jones already knows about the complete sham operated by Gladstones but they are still an ATA
So what does Jones know about this .... that is a secret ?
Marcus Jones is not an MP for the people, he is an MP for scammers0 -
Hi everyone, thanks for all the advice! I'm putting together my defence at the moment and was wondering if it is enough of a defence to use this image as the area they say I have parked in does not have any location number I can base it on that
Any help on if this is an OK defense and any help on the wording will be greatly appreciated0 -
Show us the defence (it should be long-ish, with several points, like the examples you will have seen linked in the NEWBIES thread post #2 about court defences).
Not one point of defence, never.
If you can't show a link (say to your defence on Dropbox) then break it by removing the http.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hang on. You needed to read the NEWBIES thread at the top of the forum.
No need to 'look for' it, the NEWBIES thread is the one at the top of this parking board, in capitals. Post #2 of it has shedloads of defences and is the info you need to read about court stage.
My signature (below all my posts) even tells you where to click! Did you miss that?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
