Oil on floorboards

I've had a lot of building and refurb work here recently, and in all the muddle I have managed to spill some Argan oil on the bare floorboards of the study.
The plan is to lay some underlay and carpet in the not-too-distant future. Will the Argan oil seep into the underlay? Is there anything I can do to clean it off (I think it has soaked in over many weeks so I don't hold up much hope of that).
My concern is that it might seep upwards into new carpet.
Any advice?

If you're that worried why not put a sheet of polythene over it.0
