Parking on verge next to double yellow lines

Hi guys. I went to the Reading v Fulham playoff game in Reading last week and I parked on a grass verge adjacent to some double yellow lines. All wheels were off the road. Upon my return I and all of the cars that had parked there had received a ticket. Is this enforceable? Any advice greatly appreciated. The ticket was via Reading Borough Council.
A link via Google Maps is attached illustrating where I parked (approx 100 yards further back down the road)
Thank you.

Very often the land between the DYLs and a boundary (wall, for example) is also covered by the DYLs.
But to be appropriately guided, you're not in the best place to get full expert advice.
As we tend to major on private parking tickets here, PePiPoo will be your best bet for council tickets. Register there (but please note that a hotmail address won't work) and post a new thread; here's your link:

Have a read through some of the other threads there before you post your own to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need to post redacted photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the council (both sides, if appropriate) as they need to see all the small print.
PePiPoo has an excellent success record in dealing with council tickets. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thanks for this. I'll give them a try.
