But again, you cannot have a legally binding contract without consideration. There can be no contract between the consumer & the collection point.
I agree. Why have you mentioned this?

I made no mention of any contract with the corner shop or it's proprietor, or indeed anyone else.

If you are saying that the 'cornershop style' enterprise cannot be "a person identified by the consumer to take possession of the goods", then I'll reluctantly accept that.

Apologies- thought you were carrying on from visidigi's post that the consumer would enter into a new contract.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

There must be a huge warehouse somewhere full of missing parcels! I have lost count (careless of me I know) of the number of DHL/RM/Hermes/* have lost my parcel. Where are all those missing consignments?

    *Insert name of Carrier

A lot of so called missing parcels will be on landfill sites, as i have had parcels left in bins by couriers even though these need a signature.
I once had a fax machine just left in our yard in the rain which needed a signature by city link, when i reported this to the supplier (viking) they told me to just dispose of it or if the machine works just keep it and they would not bill me and they would claim off the courier.
