Injury Suffered in Restaurant

Hi
Looking for advice...I was in a carvery restaurant at weekend and went for one of the serving spoons in the vegetable dishes under the hotplate. Each vegetable dish contained it's own serving spoon but the one I grabbed bonded itself to my hand because it had started to melt under the heat.
3 days later and traces of the plastic are still on the palm of my hand and it's red and swollen.
A personal injury 'specialist' claims they wouldn't risk taking my claim on due to lack of injury.
However, I was wondering whether anyone else has gone through their own injury claim without the use of solicitors and won?
3 days with plastic bonded to my hand and swollen/painful hand surely amounts to something?
I'm annoyed at the sheer negligence of the restaurant and while I understand that I may not be scarred for life, I just wanted to know whether it would be worth persuing the venue myself and leave the solicitors alone?
Thanks

Complaining to the restaurant and getting a free meal out is it is probably your best bet.
Otherwise, no permanent damage, element of personal responsibility, life really is far too short. Was it even bad enough to see a doctor? Were you able to finish your meal without a problem? Out of interest, what would you be claiming? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Try a few other injury claims specialist solicitors and see if they have a different attitude.0

No mention of hospital or doctor visit = no chance of compo.0 -
Not exactly a life changing injury, get over it.0

Not correct.0 -
Was this negligent on behalf of the restaurant, or purely an accident to which nobody is liable?
Not meaning to judge BTW - genuine question.0 -

Well according to the original post even the ambulance chasers have refused to take the case on - that says it all to me.0 -
Seriously the heat lamps were so hot they melted a saving spoon to the extent you have plastic embedded in your hand after three days ?0
