just need some advice if possible.
I am 22 years of age and am on the look out to buy a Ford Sierra RS Cosworth. I currently have two years no claims and three points,sp30, as of November I will be 23 years of age and will have three years driving experience, if things go ok I will have three years no claims in Feb2005. Have never made a claim or anything as of yet, no need too! Anyway I currently drive a little g reg fiesta which was £300 for the year, which also is paid off. Thing is I dont know if to swap the insurance over to the Cosworth for the remainder of the insurance year(feb2005)or insure it as a second car with someone. I do want to drive the cosworth but possibly only weekends at the most. I just wondered if anyone knew of any good insurers who may help, would I be able to insure it as a classic car maybe? Can anyone please suggest what they would do or have done in a similar situation if pos.....thanks for your time!

I think a call to Adrian Flux or Performance Direct will be needed.
If you join the RS Owners club they will probably have a discount scheme set up with a company most likely Adrian Flux.
They have a website.
Also ring around the guys that advertise in the back of max power/redline etc as they are the specialists.
I wouldn't hold out too much hope as i think they RS Cosworth is Group 20 and won't leave you a lot of change from £5000.
Last year I was 22 and had a Pug 206 Gti on 4 years NCD costing me £1200 ininsurance.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep

In additon its doubt full that the people insuring you on the Fiesta will transfer to a RS as mainstream companies will view it as too high a risk.
Also NCD cannot generally be used on more than 1 car at once.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep

Adrian Flux will give you a 25% discount if you pass the Max Driver text. http://www.max-driver.com
It's a bit of a pass plus kinda test but aimed more towards performance cars.0 -
