Bees in roof tiles..

l noticed 6 or so bees circling around my roof gutter yestaday and there were some dead ones on the floor , so l have kept my eye on this as l didn't noticed anything till yestaday..
I came out this morning and again a handful were flying around the top of the guttering .
Our house is a end house and the are flying around the corner ridge of the house.
Tonight as the sun was setting l went out and there was one or two around the corner of the gutter then one disappeared so l think it went under the corner tile..
Since l have just noticed it in the last day do you think there is only a few under the tiles or could there be a nest there..
I have read there is all different types of bees and it sounds like a masonry bee but l don't know for sure.
Anyway what actions should l take to get rid of them , is there a product l can buy to go up on my ladders and get rid of them and block up any hole that might be where the corner tile is .

Leave them alone, what harm are they doing?

Unlikely to be honey bees otherwise you would be seeing a large swarm, more likely solitary bees looking for a suitable site for their nests. Each nest will only produce a single bee and they don't sting, so nothing to worry about.

Don't worry about bees or wasps unless they are becoming a problem, which is unlikely.

We have boxes round the garden for mason bees. The males come out a few days before the females and then hang around waiting for a chance to mate - that may be what you're seeing now.

The adult bees don't live for very long and they don't sting so they aren't a problem.

They're more likely to be in the loft rather than the tiles. I had a bee hive in the loft through last summer. I use the loft regularly and never had a problem with them. They are good to watch. Leave them to it. They'll be gone by the autumn.

We've got a colony of tree bumblebees currently using our loft. Fascinating watching them coming and going, through an old overflow outlet pipe hole, and no bother to anyone.

I've been in the loft and no sign of them in there, they are at the top of the guttering and seem to go where the bottom corner tile is..
If they do go into the loft at some time won't they sting me if l go into the loft which l do now and again ..

Bees (and usually wasps) won't be interested in you, assuming you don't interfere with the nest.

Mine never did although they got a bit miffed when I shone a torch into the hive. Bees don't sting for fun.
