I'm in an IVA at the moment and noticed DEA table on my payslip today, after phoning payroll, I discovered that DWP took a substantial amount from my wages. I was told when I entered into the IVA that the DWP were included.
I phoned and spoke to an unhelpful member of staff who said that the only way around it is to pay £118.00 a month to clear a debt from 2002.
I am so freaked out as I entered into the IVA under the impression I would be paying monthly payments of £78.00
What can I do?

Hi,

Who is your IVA with, how long have you had it, was the DWP debt included as a debt at the Meeting of Creditors?

If not, how much is that debt when compared to the total debt in the IVA?

If you can answer those then we may be able to advise further.

How long have you had an IVA? How much debt do you have? Do you have any assets? Did you seek advise before opting for an IVA were it was clearly the best option?
