Does anyone know what credit checks will be undertaken for renting
In summary renting for 4+ years never missed a payment .... Do however have bad credit due to a DMP.....now might have no option but to move somewhere new just concerned with the checks when application to rent
Thanks

They can only check for public records and ask for references.0

Where "public records" broadly means bankruptcy and CCJs.0

OK so does that mean they won't actually see a credit score ? My actual score is ruined as I defaulted once going through start up DMP and just started this0

OK thanks so would you see any issues if I owe a large amount and in a DMP. No bankruptcy and no CCJs.
Just defaults which have killed my credit
4+ years renting zero payments missed0 -
Employed and regular income yes. Just bad credit 😨0

You should be fine.
My previous landlady contacted my work and previous landlady, my current only contacted my work.0 -
There just seems to be a lot of misinformation online as to what they can actually see. Some sites say public records and no information on what you owe......others say a full report which would clearly have me as a risk..even with my 100% record on 4 years worth of monthly rent payments0

I think the question has been answered, yes there is a lot of misinformation. The only way they'll see your debts is if you show them0
