Outstanding Parking charge - Address Change

Afternoon All
Just been reading through various threads and the Newbie thread (very helpful wish I had found earlier) so I hope I am not labouring a point you have previously dealt with
To cut a long story short, I received a PCN back in feb for an incident dated Jan, after doing some internet research I decided to adopt the ignore approach ( in hindsight this was probably not the best move, and if I had seen the newbie thread then I would have appealed )
Now at the stage where I have had 3 letters from Debt Recovery Plus - not too concerned by this, as everything I have read tell me no to be
Now comes the crux where your help would be appreciated, I am in the process of moving, and will be in a new property by June 1st. I have applied a 6 month Royal Mail redirect, but am slightly concerned about missing any actual legal letters. I Found a previous thread where the poster was moving abroad, and the advice was to tell the Private Parking Company. Does the same apply here? I am just slightly perturbed as I have had no contact with them as of yet. Also I assume no point in telling the debt recovery firm as any action would be done via the Private parking company anyway?
your help is appreciated
cheers

Having seen how many CCJs are issued several years after the event, I would say tea, write to them. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

I'd write as soon as you move - to both DRP and the PPC where, with your PO re-direct in place you can check that they are using your new address. Make sure, as a minimum that you get a free certificate of posting from your PO counters, although in this case I would tend towards sending the notifications via 'Signed For' delivery.
That will give you a degree of confidence that nothing nasty (like a default CCJ and wrecking credit score has been issued as a result of paperwork going to your former address) is going to jump out and bite you in a few years time. They have 6 years to pursue you through the small claims court.
Ask both outfits to confirm they've received your letter of notification - they probably won't, but you'll have their signatures (via 'Signed For').
Which PPC please? Some are nastier than others and some PPCs have a business model which seems to seek out default CCJs.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

DRPlus are best emailed the new address (no appeal) just a statement that this is the new address for the registered keeper. Should Debt Recovery Plus, or their client, or their agents or Debt Recovery Plus' alter ego company names (including, but not limited to, letters bearing the legend 'Zenith' or 'PCS' or any solicitor's notepaper originating from Debt Recovery Plus) contact the old address from 31st May onwards, this will be deemed harassment and a breach of the data principles under the DPA.
A formal complaint will be made to the BPA, the DVLA and the Information Commissioner, should any party fail to update the records to the new address, and the registered keeper of the vehicle reserves the right to take legal action for compensation for any DPA breach.
Email DRPLus stating THE DRP REFERENCE, which is required as well as the PCN number:
info@drpl.co.uk
And if Gemini can be emailed, include them at the same time. They are not worth a stamp.
Keep copies of the sent email and in fact, copy yourself into it so you can prove it arrived to the recipients.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for this Coupon-Mad, and to the other responses
will let both DRP and the PPC know this week.
Interestingly I was looking on the BMPA website I saw recommended on here, and saw some stats on Gemini. The data they have collated shows Gemini have issued over 5000 tickets this calendar year, and had 10 court hearings thus far. Obviously doesn't give stats on how many paid when they first got issued invoices, but roughly translates to about 0.2% chance of going to court0 -
Yes and if it happened, then Gemini would be easier than many, to defend (and we find most of them easy enough anyway)!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
