What happens to it please? Do you keep it registered and insured in the deceased name until it is sold?
Thank you.
Thank you.

The insurance will probably have lapsed. Contact the insurers ASAP for information.0

I had this problem with my dads car. It was easy enough to insure in my name, but taxing it was a right rigmarole. You can't tax it unless you're named on the V5. As it was on free disability tax, i ended up having to go to a DVLA main office to get it put in my name, so now an additional owner, just so i could tax it to drive it home to sell.
So long as you don't need to move it, just sorn it until it's sold, but if you need to drive it, you'll need to register it in your name and then tax it first0 -
change the registered keeper to the person that will be dealing with the car or taking ownership.
if selling to/through a dealer they should not care and collect.
the estate inventory and account deals with the paper trail of the value.0 -
Surely the DVLA is not just going to accept a change the registered keeper without the obviously unobainable signature of the deceased on the form.
I guess the DVLA will want sight of probate or at least the Death Cert?0 -

They don't care,, you can just send in the V5 change of registered keeper with deceased and signed as(your relevant status, child, administrator...)
cover letter and driving licence(if you have it)

Dead people cannot be the keeper of a vehicle.
DVLA do not deal with ownership.0
