Hi there
We have just reinstalled windows xp and are having problems with Internet Explorer 7 - it was working fine before we did the reinstall!
We had a problem with the MSN RunOnce page starting every time and refusing to budge. We sorted that by adding a new DWORD in registry (found on another site!)
Well, now that has gone, we'd like to change the default search engine but it won't let us change it. We have tried doing it manually and that won't work either.
Any ideas anyone? I can see from searching that these are common issues with IE7 but we've had no issues at all until now (and still haven't on our other computer) so can't work out what is happening.
Any help will be very welcome as I'm getting a litle cheesed off now - I don't seem to have left this blimming computer in about a week!!!

Have you installed ZoneAlarm, or any security software that may lock the homepage to prevent hijacks?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

We've reinstalled Virgin PC Guard which is what we had before. It isn't causing this problem on the laptop either so it can't be that can it?
We have the correct homepage now but we can only get Live Search in search bar iykwim. On the laptop (and the desktop before) we have Google as the default and can add our own choices for the others.
When we try and change our prefs now, it just won't have it. It's driving me slowly nuts!!!I hate computers when they decide not to work!
