Hi, if you ask a builder ie linden homes to put flooring and carpet in does that come as part of what you pay for the house via a mortgage or are the floors paid in cash
So the final purchase price would include the carpets and be covered by the mortage
Thanks

When I was looking at buying a new build, the extras were to be paid in cash at completion (save for a 10% deposit upon choice selection). It could not be added onto the mortgage from my experience.0

I wonder how much it would be for a 3 bed house with linden0 -
I asked this very question when looking at an early bird reservation. The customer experience manager told me very bluntly it would be fraud to put it on the mortgage as the mortgage can only cover the house not any of its contents or decor. I felt really silly, obviously I wasn't planning on committing fraud but how do you know these things if you don't ask?! It's also annoying as we had planned for our 5% + stamp duty, legal fees, moving fees, insurances and x y z and now to find out we need the full cost of any extras before moving in was a serious kick in the teeth. It's not as if you can apply for extra credit whilst going through the mortgage application process so we're probably going to have to leave all of these lovely extras that dressed up the showhome and go for absolute essentials.0

As above, it all went on the credit card rather being part of the purchase price of the house.0
