HI,
I am currently renting in Bristol and have finally got myself into a position where I can start looking into buying.
I am thinking of moving to WSM as you get a bit more for your money house-wise. I would, however, also look into having tenants to help cover bllls.
Does anybody curently live in houseshares in WSM or have direct experience of housesharing there? Is there a demand for it? Do not want to end up buying there and not being able to let a room out!
Any help appreciated.

Maybe look on spareroom.com and see what prices are being charged there is also a section of wanted ads might give you a clue. Other than that speak to estate agent perhaps but doubt they know now about lodgers in effect.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Remember you can't count the theoretical rental income towards your mortgage.
I'd check out spareroom and see how quickly things go.
I think as long as you are in a short distance of one of the stations you will have a good captive market of people commuting to Bristol.0 -
I'm planing on renting my spare room out when I complete on a flat, so I can pay my parents back for the money they have given me (note. they have said I don't need to pay them back but I'd rather that I did) I looked at the lowest rent in the area and although I will probably charge a little more that's my base amount. However I am not factoring this in for paying my mortgage or service charge etc.
Also see if you can do Mon-Fri lets in the area this means you have the house to yourself at the weekend also you can still get the council tax reduction as the person doesn't live there full time, in addition it's much easier to remove a troublesome person.0
