Neighbour above dropping cigarette and cigar butts on my car

Frustratingly the person living in a flat above my car park space (in the communal secure car park) keeps dropping his cigarette and cigar butts onto my car. So its covered in ash and butts are wedged into all the crevices around the sunroof and bonnet etc. (They are in a different building to me to which I have no access).
I have mentioned it to the management company but it still continues. Do i have any rights at all I wonder?
Any advice would be hugely appreciated.
Many thanks

Is it just because its your car or is it in the "wrong"place for where he chucks his buts? Can you move it and alleviate the problem?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I would demand that the management company do something. Apart from possible damage to your paintwork it is basically littering. Make sure you put your request it in writing.IITYYHTBMAD0

Have you spoken to the person yourself, maybe the management company hasn't actually done so. I suppose it's possible the tenant doesn't actually realise where his butts are landing - maybe he's sitting down on his balcony and just flicks them over the edge without looking?
Even if it is a different block they must have an entry phone or a letter box where you could leave a friendly note?0 -
Liberally douse the roof of your car in petrol. The shock of the explosion may cause him to stop in future and you won't have a car any more to get covered - a belt and braces approach.0

There is a minor flaw in your plan - some paints react badly to petrol. before dousing the roof it is best to try dabbing some petrol on a bit of paint that nobody really sees (maybe under the bonnet or the inside edge of one of the doors). Once you are happy that the petrol is not going to damage your paint then you are spot onThumbRemote wrote: »Liberally douse the roof of your car in petrol. OP, I'd go with this advice first:
speaking to them first is, imo, the better thing to do: you can then judge whether they'll listen to reason.Have you spoken to the person yourself, maybe the management company hasn't actually done so. If that doesn't work, then go to this advice:
At least this way you can show you've tried to be reasonable with the other person before going down the official route.ARandomMiser wrote: »I would demand that the management company do something. Pick up some of the stubs - they will have DNA on them if it gets that far!
(Whether it would be acceptable evidence in a court I do not know)0 -
Collect up all the butts and post them through his letterbox.
