Look, you may argue as much as you like, and it is not going to change the fact that the situation that I have described is exactly the terms of the local gov't pension schemes that I am involved in the management of. They are not "owned" by individual authorities, and no amount of you saying that they are will make it the case. I am not therefore going to argue the matter over and over. You think what you want about that. Your opinion of me is also irrelevant. And I am not going to change my mind over what I know to be the case with local authority pensions schemes that I am involved with because you choose to insult me. And does not change the fact that the OP had not asked about pension rights. I am not going to say that there are not schemes that are individually owned by authorities in the country, because I do not know every single scheme as it is individually run. I will only comment on those that I know.Hmm, looking at your posting history, I see you've got 'form' for getting all arsey when corrected by someone who actually knows the LGPS! Hopefully you ask a colleague when a member has a pension issue
It's not irrelevant because it involves it's own issue, viz.: should the OP aggregate her pensionable memberships after starting with the other school?
That's one application of the term, yes - the LGPS has another. I think we're agreed it's best not to conflate them...?0
