Agree but it's possible for property to be unaffordable but not in a bubble, as you said supply and demand.
unaffordable to some yes but then thats always been true. maybe its gotten worse now given the price rises - i agree. however it is what it is, people just have to suck it up. theres no housing crisis though. it sjust made up by the government/media.0 -

It has gotten worse and many more can't afford to buy. I agree it is what it is and I think changing it will be extremely difficult. What is needed is more property but the infrastructure in many parts of Home Counties is at breaking point.0 -
you can do all that whilst renting. if someone cant afford to buy and wants to live in an area, they rent. simple. if they cant even rent there are benefits. there are not huge amounts of homeless people are there?
The whole market is currently FUBARED.0 -
It's not that simple though. I bought a new build a couple of years ago and my mortgage is £855/month. The equivalent rent is £1,100/month.
The whole market is currently FUBARED.
i had to google what u meant by FUBARED.
anyway i dont see how you think it is FUBARED. you bought into it if you really believe so. so why did you?0 -

If I was younger, I would rather have remained involved with what you call the Ponzi debt, but this afternoon I just placed £300k in a Sainsburys savings account earning a mere 1.05%, it makes me feel like a mug. Even worse that that my wife has much more than that in cash paying about the same rate. I know that you think it is smart to hold lots of cash, but it isn't.
Why wouldn't I be on here, I'm busy marking at the moment and I can't stand marking for much more than an hour at a time, so this provides light entertainment during short breaks from marking.
Been "Marking" every day since 2008 have you....:rotfl: Pull the other one.0
