Best Shipping/Courier options for Ecommerce in UK

Options
It's been a few years since I worked with e-commerce and shipping options.

Back then, we imported a spreadsheet with our orders into a Royal Mail service that printed off some paid labels. Probably still used by many now (can't remember what the service was called, you had to apply to Royal Mail direct)

Are there any good automated/import services across the couriers such as DPD, MyHermes, InPost that cut out the labor in getting orders dispatched.

What courier/shipping techniques do you use for your e-commerce business?

You may find it useful to look through the Ebay board which has a lot of posts regarding postage and carriers.

You will find you are likely to have to use several carriers for different sizes and weights. I use RM for smaller items up to 1 or 2kg and carriers for larger boxes. Prices with carriers depend on the numbers of parcels you send per week and are negotiable.
