My ds3 loves his too! He's in Reception and stays after school until five o'clock two days a week.
He cries on the days he can't go, when he has to come home with boring old me instead. :rolleyes:0 -

Lol, I always worry people must think I'm beating him, he hates going home with me so much!:rotfl:
DS3 was meant to be starting reception mornings only for a term as he's a Spring baby and I didn't want to push him into school. Got him home OK the first day, but as everyone else was staying all day he was most indignant and bent my ear all the way home and all afternoon. I told him, if he stayed all day he'd never go to the childminder again (I only worked during school hours), and once he started full days he couldn't change his mind and go back to just mornings! He LOVED his childminder, AND she had TV which we didn't, but he was ADAMANT. So he stayed at school all day after that.
Perfectly happy about it until the end of the Christmas term when he suddenly decided he'd had enough of full days and wanted mornings only. Too late, my son, they've got you now! :rotfl:
BTW, I have run clubs in the past, and it really is a lot for Reception children to cope with afterschool club every day. Even if they have a quiet area, the mere fact that a dozen children (or more) are there and having fun makes it very hard for a child to chill. Even though I wanted their money (I did say how hard it was to balance the books, didn't I?) I used to practically BEG parents not to send Reception children every day to begin with, if they could avoid it. By Friday afternoon you could see them drooping visibly ...
This is not a criticism of those who find they have to do this, just an observation. If you can avoid it, DO!Signature removed for peace of mind0
