I have just received an email to say my monthly premium will increase due to IPT increase last year. My insurance renewal was March this year. Is this legal or fair?

IPT level raised on 1/6/17 by government (not Animal Friends)!

You can make your disapproval known to the government on June 8th!

The increase in IPT is from 1 June.

Any premiums paid after that date are subject to the new rate.

If you have a monthly policy then the new rate will apply to any premiums paid after 1 June.

If you paid an annual amount then the increase won't apply until your next annual premium payment.

The insurance company pass the tax onto the government. It does not go in their coffers.
