Help - PCN from Kernow Parking Solutions

Hello there,
I am new to this forum and also new to appealing parking charge notices.
My husband and I went on holiday in Cornwall this week. We parked up for a coastal walk and paid for 2 hours parking, thinking that the walk would take less than that, unfortunately we got lost and too 3 hours. When we got back to the car park, the notice was on the windscreen. It had been placed there 10 mins before we got back.
The company is private and called Kernow Parking Solutions. They want £60 if we pay within 14 days. But if we do not, they say it will be £100. I really don't want to be ringing up this company with my bank details. Also, I believe the fine to be really steep!
I know that we should have paid for more hours in case we got lost, I am annoyed that we didn't! But I was reading on here that this company doesn't have a legitimate contract, is this true? Could I appeal to POPLA on these grounds?
Thanks for your help and thoughts.

Have look at the NEWBIES FAQs and appeal using the template, just for the sake of not ignoring in the first instance. And then ignore, as they are not BPA members so you have no POPLA open to you, and the IAS is not worth trying. You could ignore them from now, if you prefer.
In fact, the BMPA advice is:

Ignore but keep paperwork for six years in case of a late claim. Kernow have none, no history of court at all, as you can see.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Sorry, I am not great with the lingo and abbrevs. From my understanding, the advice is to appeal (who do I appeal to?) and then after that to ignore it all?0

You don't come across as if you've actually read the NEWBIES FAQS thread at the top, yet?
Tells you who to appeal to and why not to use the IAS. We can't chew the FAQS over every time again and again for every thread. No time...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Wow rude, well I was hoping to have an answer specific to my thread. I have seen posts on here to create your own thread. Shows that you can't do anything right in some people's eyes.
I will read it now, but if anyone else actually has something helpful to say that would be good.0 -
I'm out then, not being rude. The NEWBIES thread was written for newbies like you, to help you.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Oh dear OP, that was the very last hand you should have bitten on here. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
