What is underneath - floorboards or concrete?

Either way, make sure you take into account what you need to do at the threshold with other rooms.

EDIT: It is important to prepare the existing floor according to what is already there. Screed if concrete, and plywood or similar if it's floorboards.

Before fitting, leave it unrolled (as far as possible) in the room for 24 hours to allow it to be more pliable.

    Yeah. Don't.

Professional fitters make it look easy. But vinyl is a pig to lay. One wrong cut and its mullered. it is a lot less forgiving. A fitter would charge around £40 for this. to me its a no brainer.

The best tip is what phil said , just get someone to lay it , I've had loads of people buy it from me , then come back a week later for a second piece and wanting it fitting , so end up paying double , and even if you get it down , it will never look as good as if someone experienced laid it , I've been doing it for 20 yrs and it aint easy .
