Lloyds Banking Group - Lloyds Bank & Halifax lending criteria

I know Halifax and Bank of Scotland (HBOS) are part of the Lloyds Banking Group - along with Lloyds bank.

But does Lloyds and Halifax have a different lending criteria? Like as a customer at neither can you be more likely to be accepted for a lloyds or halifax credit card or bank account? Or do they use exactly the same criteria?

The same but they all have seperate banking licences, but are the same group so you may find you are offered a lower limit as it will take in consideration what other credit cards you hold regardless of banking group.

Internal rating will be the same on the systems as they use the same one s, just with the different banks names, not that you can see this information.

If you are declined for one bank it doesn't stop you from applying to the others. Just keep in mind the total amount of savings to be covered in the LBG group.

    Don't you work for Halifax?

The banking (savings) licences are held by Lloyds Bank or Bank of Scotland.

    Not at LBG level.

Not sure if you understood the question asked? First you say the lending criteria is the same. Then you go on to suggest applying to another member of the group if the first one declines you. Wouldn't the outcome be the same?
