Please help! Rta / third party claim

Hi I would like any guidance help or advice please, in brief-

My business was not insured for a very short period of 3 weeks whist the council and insurance company decided how to list it, as bed sit above shop or flats or other.

As luck would have it, some one drove into it at night and with a car and basically destroyed the business and building as front elevation was completely dangerous.

The car and driver escaped and some witnesses saw some part of the incident and some one phoned the police with a partial number plate, cars lights and other body parts remained in the shop.
Police did nothing found nothing investigated nothing
I began working on it myself, found the car, the driver and owner who lived 1/4 mile away.
It was unlicensed driver with a car belonging to his family and taken with consent.
Got the Insurance details and phoned the Insurance and gave them details,.
They contacted policy holder and car owner who denied it and Insurance denied claim.
Found out by a witness who driver had confessed to how they got away with it by giving false paperwork, assuming sold or scrap receipt .
Contacted Insurance and Dvla and got a confirmation that they scrapped car after accident.
Told Insurance and they said it contradicted policy holders version
2 wks and policy holder is not responding or co-operating with his own Insurance.
Insurance company admit liability
I instruct loss assessors and put together documents to meet their loss adjuster
He arrives and says they have no idea how big this claim is and he cant deal with it
7 days later, letter from Insurance company retracting liability.
Handed to solicitors who did nothing for 3 years and said we will go court they can take liability away.
5.5 years still no wear and no court and advised I need £10,000 issue fee etc
bare in mind I have lost everything by now financially
Had meeting with solicitors and find out they have not been sending anything to insurance company.
Took a new firm and borrowed money and paid £5k in fees for 4 wks to a firm in the city and basically done nothing, wont even send letters I wanted and try to convince insurance its a claim thast valid. ps lots of information and statements , too much to list in the first instance
now issuing protective claim for proceedings to buy time for 4 months.

I keep trying anything and everything any one advises and paid one of the top law firms but it just seems to be circus.

Insurance says they wont even look at material which I finally sent until after I issued
6 years limitations

sorry been working 18 hour a day on this myself and probably not make complete sense.
