whiplash

A week before I was due to go on a 2 week cruise, sat at traffic lights I was hit from behind causing substantial damage to my van this was witnessed by a police officer anyway a couple of days later I was in agony from pain in my lower back while this didn't completely ruin the holiday it did put a dampener on it, anyway I have had an offer of £1000 in full and final settlement, now I have never been in this position before do you think the offer is fair or is the insurance company starting low in their negotiating? hoping that I just accept the first offer.

You should consider getting one! (But beware any PMs you get from anyone on here offering to represent you!)

Take advice from a solicitor. Definitely get one as they will advise you and will be able to value your injuries and arrange for the necessary medical evidence.

Check your insurance policies (home and motor) for legal expenses insurance as there will usually be a head of cover for personal injury.

I would strongly suggest not settling your claim yourself.
