James Wellbeloved Alternative

After some advice with regards to a cheaper alternative to 'James Wellbeloved' dog food.
Currently have 3 poodles, of which 2 have a lot of allergies, currently feeding all 3 dogs on 'James Wellbeloved' Lamb & Rice pouches.
This is becoming rather expensive, nearly 6 pouches a day.
Is there something else on the market that would be better suited?

Until my two (cavaliers) got quite old they had Fish4Dogs kibble. It has no additives and obviously only comes in fish varieties, but the boys used to love it when they had enough teeth. There are often large reductions and a permanent 10 or 15% discount on spends over £100 and £200 .
I now feed Butcher's tripe with a small amount of kibble. The original/ with chicken varieties of this were advised by a vet friend, as there are also no additives and she recommended it for weaning puppies as it is gentler than some other brand 'special ' puppy foods. (I can't remember the brand , but PaH also sell a quite cheap mixer, which is anti-allergenic.)0 -
I changed from JWB to skinners field and trial with my last dog - the different varieties are different prices depending on what suits your dog. It was the kibble rather than pouches though. The change didn't seem to set any of her allergies off and it is cheaper than JWB, so might be worth a look at. It doesn't compare to Arden grange etc. but I found it adequate quality for us.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
One of the foods you might consider is Burgess Sensitive- lamb & rice- complete dried not pouches.
My local pet shop sells a lot of this and you are able to buy it loose eg 1kg bag so that you can try it out.
Another possibility is Skinners Duck & Rice. My boy is wheat intolerant and does very well on a combination of the two.
No idea if samples are available but you might e-mail the companies concerned, explain the situation and see if they would send you a sample or money off voucher- worth a try.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Thank you for all the replies.
Are there any alternatives to the Lamb & Rice wet pouches that JWB do?0 -
Although it's not pouches, the already suggested Butchers Tripe Mix tins served with a little mixer would be a far cheaper alternative, that is still reasonably good quality.
There are other good options in tinned food if you want a complete food, Arden Grange tins of Lamb/Chicken & Rice or Fish & Potato, or check out Wainrights Lamb & Rice tins.
The pouches tend to be a little dearer, but if you were desperate to stick with them you could try Wainrights pouches.
Have a look at the following thread on petforums.co.uk. It is just one person's opinion, but along with the allaboutdogfood website, it might give you some ideas.

Another vote for skinners our dog has sensitive tummy but this stuff is great and he loves it.
Buy ours from fetch.com which is part of ocodo group, free delivery if over £290 -
I use Naturo trays, £5 for six 400g trays. My (10kg) Yorkie has sensitive skin and tummy, this suits him really well. He has a 3rd of a tray with kibble daily.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
