Tesco credit card compromised

I've just received a text from Tesco Bank informing me that my credit card with them (actually I have two of them, but they haven't specified which) may have been compromised and has been cancelled. They will apparently send me a new one within 10 days.

I'm not sure if this is an isolated incident or whether Tesco have had another data breach - has anyone else received such a message?

    Thanks CJ

I don't have a CC with Tesco but was affected when their current accounts were compromised. I hope it is an isolated incident.

My Tesco Credit card hasn`t been compromised. But a fraudulent transaction on my TSB Credit card was stopped a month ago and I got a replacement card. Hopefully an isolated incident.

I've just called them to verify the text was genuine, and was momentarily worried when a recorded message told me they were currently experiencing very high volumes of calls so the wait would be long. Oh dear, I thought. However I got through quite quickly and whilst they refused to give me any details of the compromise, they said it was something which had been flagged up by Mastercard. There are no strange transactions on my account, so that's reassuring. I shall just have to wait patiently for a replacement, but it doesn't sound as though it's a widespread data breach incident thank goodness.

Somebody reported a similar incident recently on the credit cards board.
