Using 2 modems on one phone line?

Is it possible to run two modems on the same phone line to feed two PC's in different parts of the house or do I have to go wireless?

in theory you could run a dial up and broadband at same time.. but most I assume you mean 2 broadband connections on one line.

Wireless is an option, but so is a router with networking ( cat 5/ 6) cabling fed from one location to the other , which I find more secure and less troublesome

Or ( never tried myself) you can get a system that runs via you power sockets / ringmain ( called things like homeplug and powerline)

cheapest way is to run a rj45 cable (crossover) between the 2 puters. the downside is that the first puter must be on, for the other to access the net.

a wireless router is so much easier, and fairly cheap these days.
(and any puter can access the net, at anytime).
