new cooker in old-ish kitchen

We'd love to renew our kitchen but just can't afford it.
However the electric hob and oven has just gotta go, it is inefficient and is burning the units around it.
I'd like to cut it out of the worktops, take out the whole assembly (oven housing built-under oven and hob) and replace with a new freestanding cooker.
Is this feasible?
Looking forward to your replies, many thanks

We did it in our kitchen to make way for a freestanding cooker, just want the new kitchen now;) I wanted an all gas cooker and the connection was easy and the widths were the same.0

Yep we did it too, took our ceramic hob, and electric oven and put in a dual fuel range cooker, quite easy,,We'd love to renew our kitchen but just can't afford it.
