How much Hungarian Forint to take?

Hi!
Will be off to Budapest in a few days time. How much Hungarian Forint (HUF) roughly should I exchange for at M&S for a 3nights/4 days stay for 2 adults? I know somebody suggested changing at Budapest airport as it has a better rate but a bit worried travelling without any HUF and not speaking the lingo.
BTW, I don't have a Nationwide card and it's too late to apply for one for the trip. Plan to use the credit card for Gundel and airport minibus. Will pay with HUF for all other sight-seeing activities and food. Not planning to buy any expensive gifts.
Thanks.

I came back from Budapest 2nd May, I was on 3 nights/4 days, but was on a rugby tour, which was two full days of playing.
I took £350 changed up, aprrox 11700 HUF, a couple of the group changed their £'s to HUF at Budapest airport and got a slighty better rate. I was intending on using a credit card for any big purchases or extra cash. In the end I actually came back with around £100, but like I say two full days of rugby put paid to spending oppertunity. Having a birthday on tour also helps)
The free time we had, Friday afternoon and Monday morning, were spent walking around, enjoying a beer or two and visiting the thermal baths.

I intend to go back, and discover the city properly.
There are a couple of threads dealing with things to do while in Hungray, In fact there is a free downloadable mini guide that I found very useful

I spent 3 nts/4 days in Budapest last weekend. We did change £100 at the airport, but there were much better rates available in the city with loads of change bureaux mostly no commision and good rates. We booked a taxi to and from the airport from the Budapest Tourist Agency over the net at 20euro each trip payable to the driver. Meals were about £20 for two of us including wine. We didn't bother with the Budapest card as we walked nearly everywhere and just had a couple of trips on the metro which were very cheap. Gellert Baths were fairly pricey, but worth it. Keep your receipt with you as you need it to get the attendant to unlock a vacant 'cabin' to change.
Have a great trip. I think it is better than Prague!0
