Advice from anyone familiar with Walderslade please

Hello,
I'm currently trying to buy a house.
I grew up in Dartford, but can't afford the prices, so I'm looking at Walderslade, Hempstead, Gillingham , Sittingbourne way.
I've seen a house I like in Walderslade, but since I'm not familiar with the area I would really appreciate the forum members views on Clover Bank View (just off Heron Way). I think this falls within the Princes Park area and I have not heard great things about this part of Walderslade.
Thanks.

I'm not sure about the specific road but Walderslade Woods is the nicest part (and most expensive). Parts of Lordswood are nice too.0

I grew up in Rainham and later lived in Hempstead although haven't lived there for 14 years. Hempstead was always the more desirable and most expensive part followed by bits of Wigmore. Agree with john987 that Walderslade Woods is nicer than Walderslade itself - also a v steep hill which was a nightmare in the snow! Would personally avoid anywhere lower down so Chatham and Gillingham towns themselves. Nicer bits of Sittingbourne were always on outskirts so Upchurch, Newington and Bapchild.
Like I say though, a lot has probably changed since I lived there!0 -
I agree with the above posters - Walderslade Woods was always the nicest part of Walderslade and would agree with Flipflop to avoid Chatham / Gillingham.
Looking at the map, Clover Bank View is (I think) classified as Chatham - ME5, right? I don't know that specific area very well, but did live in ME4 for the best part of 8 years and have driven through the area quite a bit.... having bought a house on the notorious Luton Road without knowing it's reputation.
Personally, I wouldn't buy in Chatham again - we had great times in our house (once we bought a guard dog) but never felt safe where we were - though I would caveat that by saying perhaps that part of town is better than our side was (perhaps I'm judging an entire town unfairly based on a single road)! And, to be fair, that was six years ago and towns can change.
Have you considered Ebsfleet or the new developments that way? Or parts of Maidstone?0 -
Walderslade and Lordswood are the better areas for Medway and Walderslade Woods in particular is lovely. Princes Park isn't that bad, the general rule of them is the closer you are in Princes Park to Chatham, the worse you are, but Princes Park is still much better than some undesirable areas of Chatham and Gillingham for example. If you are able to PM the road, I can tell you a bit more.0

Walderslades not bad , bus service is not wonderful so you need to be able to drive . Chatham or Gillingham train station are nearest but not walkable , kingsferry coaches pick up nearby and are cheaper than the train to Canary Wharf and the city of LondonEx forum ambassador
