I am genuinely concerned as to whether 0.67% is excessive charging, as unlike Vanguard Funds, the Friends Life Funds do not rebalance themselves, nor decrease my risk as i get older by lowering equity:bond ratio.
FL will have multi-asset funds and single sector funds. Single sector funds are not meant to rebalance. However, the multi-asset ones will.
Do expect the SIPP from Vanguard to be higher priced. SIPPs are higher cost tax wrappers to the provider than the ISA wrapper. I expect they are waiting to see the volume of funds they are going to get on the ISA before deciding. Thus, i am hoping Vanguard's SIPP fees will be lower than Friends Life Fees + added bonus of rebalancing with Vanguard Target Date Retirement Funds.
Have you read the other thread going on at the moment about the negatives of the target date retirement funds?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Thank you so much for your comments! :A
I cannot tell you how relieved i was to read your thoughts on Vanguard SIPP pricing, likely to be higher than my personal pension.
Apologies - i didn't realize there was another thread on Vanguard Target Retirement funds till you mentioned it. I have just googled and found it, so will be reading through it thoroughly tonight. :T0 -
Eight days ago I requested a transfer of an isa from HL to Vanguard.
Nothing seems to be happening yet.
What is the deadline for such transfers?
Many thanks0 -

Cash ISA to Cash ISA must be completed within 15 business days of transfer request being received by new provider.
No such deadline exists for S&S ISA transfers. 30 days is not unusual. Are you transferring as cash or in specie?0 -

Does anyone know if I am being fleeced on these Personal Pension Charges? Is this considered excessive charges??
If so, what platform would be lower cost re: AMC, and monthly contributions of £1500?
Any input on this would be greatly appreciated!
I'm being charged:
Wealth Manager 0.75%
IFA 0.45%
Ave OCF 0.80%
So to me your fees look pretty reasonable.0 -

Ideally, you would be looking for 0.5% IFA, fund charges (which would be no different if IFA or DIY) and no wealth manager. The WM just creates a new level of charges. What does the Wealth Manager do?
Ideally you could do your own research and planning, use lower cost funds and save yourself over 1.5%.“So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”0 -
