Canada Square - Should i give up?

I have put a clam in regarding PPI for an Egg credit card i had many years ago. I used the MSE tool to find out who to send the claim to, it was passed to the FOS who contacted me and said this had been forwarded to Canada Square Operations as this is who is nor responsible (i believe).

I have received a letter for Canada Square asking for account numbers, the original signed agreement, a statement with the account number on it plus lots of other information. I can obviously provide the personal information but I don't have the details of the account etc.

I have no experience, knowledge or guidance in this matter, should i give up with the claim as in can't provide the information they have asked for or is this a deliberate ploy to put people off.

Please don't slate me as i know there are a lot of knowledgeable people who read this forum but I'm not one of them.

It's a deliberate ploy to give you an opportunity to have your complaint investigated.

If they don't have the information - and if it was 'many years ago', it's unlikely they will - all you can do is provide whatever you have.

If the Bank can't find you from your (then) name, address and date of birth etc, then it's very likely any records have been expunged from their systems. Even if you manage to find the account number from your own archive (statements perhaps) that won't help if there is no record of PPI.

There is no "deliberate ploy" to prevent you getting a refund, but if you want to be successful you need to provide full information about old finance..

You send them a SAR and £10 to see what info is left, but be warned, this doesn't mean your complaint will be successful, or that there IS any info left.
