Hi all were thinking about getting shutters from California shutters diy installation to save money,as it's alot cheaper than Hilary's blinds.
Has anyone fitted these in a new build? Worried as the walls all seem to be plasterboard and everything seems to fall out eventually even when we've been using plasterboard Rawl plugs

I've fitted them.
As they will be fit either inside or outside the window reveal, you should be fixing into the studs around the window opening anyway so you shouldn't need any wall plugs.0 -
We were planning on installing them inside the window but abit worried about the plaster.
Also was it easy to screw in at the top? Worried it might hit the lintel

In my case, the wall I was fitting them in was a timber framed overhang above our downstairs bay window so there was no lintel - the entire window opening was timber framed all round.
Where in the reveal will you be putting it? It obviously needs to have enough clearance for any handles - are you going to put it as close to the window as possible? Perhaps do a few exploratory drillings to see if you hit a stud.0 -
Yes that was the plan to put it as close to the window as possible. The installation videos are helpful but they don't look like there drilling into plasterboard0
