Mortgage Offer By Fax

I'm due to sign for my new house tomorrow however i got a phone call from my solicitor last week saying they still haven't received the mortgage offer from the bank, turns out the bank had sent it to the wrong solicitor. This was cleared up and sent to the right solicitor but had a further phone call today saying it still hasn't arrived, I rang the bank again and they have faxed the offer over incase it doesn't show up in tomorrows post. The solicitor would not confirm if they would use the faxed document, is there a reason why they can't accept this?

    A mortgage offer isn't something which is "served" in the same sense as e.g. court papers.

    Perfectly normal for mortgage offers to be sent by fax or electronically.
