The energy regulator has put back plans to introduce a 'switching database', which would allow suppliers to contact rival firms' customers on the most expensive standard variable energy tariffs and offer them a cheaper deal....

They need to build a database for all the smart meters they put in, matched to the address, CORRECTLY.

Pigs will fly. They can't get that right with the standard meters.
What they first need to do is have smart meters which work when you switch from one supplier to another.
I understood that may happen when they finish trailing the 2nd generation of smart meters that will work when you switch until then I am not having one put in. ( Sorry BG, your advert with Wilbert is not going to persuade me.)The more I live, the more I learn.
