Chatham Dockside UKPC charge

Need some advice! The car park at Chatham Dockside has a lot of disabled bays and about four of these are dual purpose for disabled or parent and child. However, the only way to tell these is a white triangle representing a pushchair on the ground in the middle of the bays - in all other ways they are the same as the disabled bays including disabled symbol. If there are cars parked in these bays there is no way to tell which they are as the markings are covered.

My wife (with our son) parked in what she believed to be a parent and child space (adjacent to the marked ones) and got a ticket.

I was away and did not respond to first notice of charge, wrote after second notice to say the charge was unreasonable as the signage was so poor and had no reply and have now had a debt agency notice with a threat of court action.

Apparently it's too late for any appeal now, so any advice on what to do now? The 'fine' has so far increased three fold to £160!

I would send an appeal anyway. Use the BPA template in blue from the NEWBIES thread.

UKPC have been caught doctoring time stamps on their photo' "evidence" in the past, and are currently awaiting an "interview" by HMRC which may result in the company being wound up.

Come back if you get real court papers.
