5 minutes in council car park

Hello folks
Every week I leave my car in the council owned car park whilst I deposit the weekends taking in the bank.
I've never bothered to get a ticket
- The bank is just as near as the pay and display machine.
- I ain't paying £1.20 for less than 5 minutes parking.
Anyway I got a ticket this morning. The crafty parking lady kept me talking for a while, then gave me a ticket saying i'd been there for 7 minutes with out a ticket.
That seems proper cheeky, as if I did talk to her, i'd of been there for only a couple of minutes.
Is it worth appealing, on what grounds.
Or should I just pay it as I've not paid the £1.20 a week for about 6 years.!
